Spongebob toddler art.
Drawn by Alana Smith age 2 October 2009.
My daughter Alana will be three in a few months. She has been drawing as long as I can remember but she has just recently started to try and draw faces. She drew the above image and informed me that it was Spongebob Squarepants.
This is some other dude she drew. Humpty Dumpty? Kids draw the darnedest things.

Katana and Halo from Batman and the Outsiders
Drawn October 2009 by Kassidy Smith.
Kassidy is a big fan of the girls from the old 80's comics Batman and the Outsiders. She picked out a few of these old comics from the dollar boxes at our closest comic book shop.

Kassidy's Super Hero parade.
Old school Wonder Woman, new school Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl.
Supergirl.
Dazzler.
Princess Star Girl. (A Kassidy creation.)
Cat Girl. (A Kassidy creation.)
Ring Girl. (A Kassidy creation.)
Wolverine.
Raven.
Flower Girl. (A Kassidy creation.)
I think this one is Kassidy as a Jedi.
Wonder Woman and a distressed sun.
Sue Storm/Invisible Girl. (a.k.a. Sue Richards/Invisible Woman.)
Kassidy invented a girl Green Lantern.
(Funny aside. It does not make any sense to Kassidy why the Green Lantern is called Green Lantern when his power comes from his ring. I'm like, "Well, he has to charge his ring in a green lantern". This explanation just gets a blank stare. I'm with her. It's pretty freaking dumb that he's named after the thing that powers the ring and not the ring itself. We don't call cars "combustion engines". We call them cars. Comics!?!)
Most of these were drawn back in March around Kassidy's 7th birthday. She is still on a pretty big super hero kick. Right now she is into the Huntress and all things X-Men.

Kitty Pryde and the X-Men
Kitty Pryde in and out of costume "phasing" through a wall.
Kitty and Dazzler.
Kitty and the X-Men show in only a few panels of the Dazzler comic that Kassidy got a couple of weeks ago but they made a strong impact. Compound that with watching the new Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon and Kassidy has been inspired to draw a lot of mutants.

Wonder Girl vs. Wonder Woman.
We picked up an issue of Wonder Girl for fifty cents at a comic book shop and Kassidy was inspired to have her fight Wonder Woman. Daddy helped by writing in the words.
Clone War fever.
Ahsoka, Padme and Ventress.
Grevious, Obi-Wan and Anakin.
Padme lets her hair down.
Kassidy and Daddy love watching The Clone Wars.

Dazzler!
Earlier this week I took the kids with me to some comic shops. One of the shops had several boxes of old comics for a buck a piece so we grabbed a small stack. One of the books was Dazzler #2 from 1981. Kassidy likes it a lot. Dazzler is a singer and wears roller skates so that pretty much covers everything a six year old girl needs in a superhero.
Here is Dazzler skating by herself.
And here is a look at the old comic that inspired it all. It's a shame they don't make superhero comics for girls. (Well, allegedly, they make one but I can't find it anywhere.)
