Fashion Catalog

Drawn by Kassidy, age 6 in fall 2008.
Kassidy thinks she is a fashion designer and likes to make her own catalog books.  She draws pages and pages of dresses,  pants, shirts, accessories etc.  These are some samples from a recent book I salvaged from her bedroom.  I like the swirly patterns and should steal them for my own art.

I like how the bottom mermaid is wearing a shirt with a mermaid on it.

Ghost Girl drawn by Kassidy in October, 2008.
Some Witches by Kassidy in October, 2008.
Sometimes Kassidy has a little story to go with her drawings. This story was transcribed by Grandmama.

Purple and black ballerina.

Drawn by Kassidy (age 6) in October 2008. What I find interesting about this is that Kassidy shows that she is spinning by showing the back of the dancer. This is the first time I've seen her use this trick. I'm also just amazed by the composition and design. It has a strength energy to it that I would have to spend a lot of time trying to capture. Kids get that kind of thing naturally because they are not burdened by any kind of commitment to trying to nail the anatomy.

Stuff from Kassidy's old gallery.

These are some older drawings that were on Kassidy's old art gallery page. They are from when she was four and five.

Hello.

Hey pals.  It's me, Daddy Smith.  This blog is not about me though.  A while back I started an art gallery for my daughter Kassidy over at ComicSpace.  Then, we moved and got busy etc. etc. and I failed to update it.  Now, my youngest daughter Alana is starting to draw as well.  I've started this blog to keep up with their artistic adventures.  No offense to ComicSpace but blogger is just easier and faster to use.  I'll start posting their art and fixing up the template on this blog soon.  Come back soon and check it out.

Your best pal ever,
Shannon Smith
